On Wednesday the Orlando Magic took on the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wachovia Center. It was a great game as the Magic improved to 11-4 overall and 5-1 on the road.

Dwight Howard had a big night with 21 points and 14 rebounds while the Magic shot 47% percent overall. Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis added another 31 points while Tony Battie went a perfect 9-9 and scored 20 points off the bench.

For the 76ers, Elton Brand scored 21 while Andre Iguodala added 17.

The play of the game came when the Magic found themselves down by one with 14 seconds left. Turkoglu made a clutch pass to Lewis for the three pointer to gain the lead 96-94 and thus seal the game.

On Thursday, the Magic continued their road trip down to Washington D.C to play the Wizards at the Verizon Center. Once again it was another dominating performance by Dwight Howard as he hung 26 points on the Wizards, while Turkoglu added another 20. Anthony Johnson also got in the mix with 12 assists.

Overall, four Magic starters scored in double figures, while the Magic shot 47% and 31% from the behind the arc. The Magic also had one of there best first quarters all season scoring 38 points.

My top play of the game came in the second quarter when Howard found Peitrus for a stellar dunk right down the lane. It was truly a dominating performance all around by the away team as the Magic won 105-90.

Notables...

  • Both wins put the Magic two games ahead of the second-place Atlanta Hawks in the Southeast division.
  • The win against Washington marked Orlando's sixth straight road win.
  • Howard's back-to-back double-doubles put him at 12 for the season.

Injury news: Magic point guard Jameer Nelson has a strained right hip flexor and will be out for 7-10 days.
