The one we call Marshall Mathers a.k.a.Eminem is back. After a long hiatus, em is right back on top as if anyone would have doubted that would happen. Marshall has been gone dealing with the death of his friend Proof who was shot in a bar scuffle also he has spent a lenghty time in rehab dealing with his addiction to sleeping pills.
Relapse is the sixth studio release from em and once again the legendary Dr. Dre is at the healm teaming up with his starchild Mr. Mathers. The album has recived neutral to positive reviews thus far but reviews are not slowing down the loyal supporters from going out and buying relapse. The album sold around 600,000 copies in it's first week which made the best opening week for an album so far this year.
The album shows progression, sure em still pokes fun at random celebrities but the album also portrays his life with his recent trip to rehab. While it has been a while since his last release, Mathers has kept busy working as a producer for many hip hop artists. It just goes to show that no matter how long the hiatus is, the fans will still be there lined up waiting for a new release to buy. Eminem has gone from a lyrical nusciance to just about kicking down the door of legendary rap artist.
