April 23rd will be the 14th annual Market Under Glass. Every year, about this time, a bunch (40-50) of area restaurants, beverage distributors and other hospitality related vendors gather together under the glass atrium in the Galleria at Erieview.

Under the umbrella of northeast Ohio Harvest for Hunger food drive, it directly benefits the needs our hungry, via the Cleveland Foodbank. Blue Point, Lago, Hyde Park, XO, Salmon Dave’s, La Dolce Vita and Paladar are just a few of ‘08’s participants that donate their time and delicacies.

A seemingly endless line of buffet tables lines the halls. Party goers walk the floors: tasting here, sipping there. It is, to many, a an affirmation that spring is here to stay, after the usual March weather teasers. Hundreds gather to meet and greet friends while sampling food and wine aplenty. Blue skies turn to twilight under the crystal cover as live music and laughter fill the atrium.

All this fun does not come cheap. At $100 a ticket it requires some thought, if you act early, before March 1, tickets are a palatable $65. Along with the 2 level bar and buffet each guest receives a commemorative wine glass. Remember, when decision time is at hand, that a good portion of your money goes full circle. Your donation helps to feed someone else that truly needs help with the how part of eating a meal, not the where and when.
