Here we are in the second full week of our shiny new year.  It's a good time to look at how your wellness journey is progressing so far.

Maybe your pants aren't any looser, and you haven't lost any or enough weight. Maybe already you feel you are not any closer to your goal and you are overwhelmed by the long road ahead. I would like to gently remind you of what we call  "the path".

The path is mysterious and ever changing.  I confess, I have walked down the same paths a few times.  But they were always slightly different; a liittle brighter, more familiar.  Try to let these familiar steps on the path give you confidence you know the way.  You DO know the way.  We all sometimes get lost when we lose focus. That's okay, just start now.  Here's how:

Set your focus on where you are at this moment on your path.  It's Monday morning after the weekend; are you a little puffy? Did you have a bit more salt Sunday afternoon? Okay.  You have been here before, you already know what you need to do.  Drink more pure water, have watery foods for lunch (salad not soup) and avoid soft drinks.  In a few hours you will feel better.  When you feel better you can see the way.

The next step, also familiar; do a little exercise.  Don't kill yourself.  Just an hour or a half hour. You choose, you're the one on the path.  Remember exercise can be very liberating for the mind- and that will certainly help you on your way.

Remember, always be loving to yourself and be reasonable.  The path, the journey is what it's all about.  Yes, yes you've heard that one a thousand times but consider this:

Once you "reach your goal"  you'll hop right back on the path again to "maintain the goal".  So get comfortable, settle in and enjoy this life's adventure.
