The Race for the Cure is unlike any other road race in Dallas. It's more then just a fun run on a perfect Autumn morning. It's a realization of how many people are actually affected by Breast Cancer. Be sure to check out the insider's picture review of the race below.
The support is overwhelming for this cause. You see pink ribbons everywhere from NFL teams to men wearing pink ties to work. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it's safe to say that the Race for the Cure is a major focus in Dallas.
The beginning of this race was a little chaotic with walkers simply starting their 5K stroll to runners hoping onto the grass in hopes to find a clear path. It's a little like dodging through traffic on a Dallas freeway without all the smog. Once things calm down people seem to get into the grove and begin noticing all the messages on people's backs. Teams have been formed in order to raise money and more awareness. Pink is seen everywhere from hats, gloves and even hot pink leggings. Every person had a smile on their face and sometimes a tear in their eye, perhaps for a lost family member, someone that is suffering now, or simply in hopes to find a cure in case they are diagnosed one day.
