While taping this evening’s (Tuesday, October 27th) episode, “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson lost power in the studio. A windstorm is currently livening up the weather in Los Angeles tonight, with some gusts up to 70 mph. Craig was interviewing actress, Alicia Silverstone, when the lights started to dim a bit, finally going completely dark. Ferguson and the actress were not sure what was happening at first. The producers handed the host a flashlight to finish taping he show.

“The Late Late Show” is taped in front of a studio audience at CBS Television City on Fairfax. The blackout occurred approximately 5:45 PST. If I ruined the illusion that his show is broadcast on CBS live, please forgive me. The episode will be televised at 12:35 AM tonight.

Also scheduled as a guest on tonight’s show is Salman Rushdie. The author made a notable appearance on Craig’s show just about two weeks ago in a sketch entitled, “Party at Elton John’s House.” Ferguson often uses that title as a punchline to jokes.
