Not Proper Pet Nutrition
Good Nutrition for Pets is Just as Important as for People

PETCO announced that they will be hosting pet nutrition workshops for "pet parents" at all their locations nationwide, on Saturday, November 14th at 2 pm.

What Services will be Offered at the Pet Nutrition Workshops?

It will be a workshop lasting approximately 30 minutes, hosted by specially trained in-store nutrition experts.  They will focus on the nutritional needs of dogs and cats, including some of the many benefit’s a good diet offers pets – just as it does humans.  Attendees will also be able to receive a personal nutrition needs assessment for their pet, and discuss various brands and categories of pet food, such as basic, premium, and natural pet foods.

And finally, educational materials and free samples of pet food from Wellness, Halo, and Natural Balance will be handed out.

Why is Good Pet Nutrition so Important?

The importance of good pet nutrition is much the same as the importance of a healthy diet in humans; a whole host of ailments and physical complaints can be reduced or even eliminated through a good diet.  Just a few of the many issues that may be able to be helped by a proper pet diet are:

  • dry, flaky or itchy skin
  • dull coat or hair loss
  • arthritis
  • urinary tract inflammation, especially in cats
  • kidney problems, particularly in older pets

Of course, if you have any questions about the best nutritional choices for your dog or cat, be sure to discuss it with your veterinarian, as they know your pet's dietary and medical needs best.
