Miami Center for the Photographic Arts
The Miami Center for Photographic Arts was born from a true love of the art of the image. Owner Steve Meeks, armed with his two sons, started a framing business (Borders) almost 20 years ago catering to much of Miami's art community.
Incorporating a gallery space and extensive knowledge for the photographic arts, Steve continues to bring quality photographs to our notice. Located in an older section of Miami not known for it’s glitz, this area has history galore, located just across the Miami River from downtown. I personally enjoy going for all the nostalgic remembrances of a Miami sadly long gone.
Saturday, MARCH 7th, an opening Reception will be held from 5:00 - 8:00PM , celebrating Women’s History Month with a photographic documentary of Florida Women of Achievement with well-known portrait artist Scherley Busch’s photographs of pioneers and leaders of Florida’s History: Adrienne Arsht, Helen Aguirre Ferre, Elaine Bloom, Barbara Pariente.
At the same time artist Scherley Busch will also be presenting her limited editions of “intimate sub-tropical Images” entitled Tropical Visions, sumptuous close-ups of our local flora.

Gracious and informative, the Meeks are the real deal when it comes to Miamians, and know how to present Miami’s heritage and artists with more gravitas than many recently rolled-into-town-ers.
