Selection from exhibition: THE PRISONER'S DILEMMA
Cifo Art Space
1018 N. Miami Avenue
Miami, FL 33136
305.455.3380

The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation is a non-profit organization supporting emerging and mid-career contemporary Latin American artists.  This gallery exploded on the Miami scene during Art Basel 2002 and has kept our attention ever since.  Visually unique; the outside walls of the Miami downtown space constructed of tiny green mosaic tiles soothingly evoking large bamboo stalks. (by Miami architect Rene Gonzalez)

Ella Fontanals-Cisneros began collecting works by artists from Latin America in 1970.  The Collection consists of "pieces by risk-taking artists from around the world,"  in  video art, installation and photography.

I have never been bored or unimpressed with CIFO's  choices....always bringing new thoughts and images to disect and discuss.

Over the next week+++.,  please consider their selections of gallery  exhibitions and film:

CURRENT EXHIBITION
The Prisoner's Dilemma: Selections from the Ella Fontanals-Cisneros Collection

December 3, 2008 - March 1, 2009
Prisoner's Dilemma focuses on the artists contempletive interpretations of power in our modern world.  As our own current universe is in a state of flux in a way unknown to present generations, it is a topic we are all addressing with grave thoughts and personal concern unprecedented in our lives.  Take the time to attend the exhibition with a companion who can explore the worthwhile ideas and concerns this thoughtful presentation offers.
Artists have historically  been a good barometer of a changing status.
