Guess who's coming to D.C.?
Forget Hollywood—the Obama inauguration is the place to be. Next week, many of the stars will be traveling to the other coast to support President-Elect Obama. Here’s a rundown of who will be stopping by in Washington:
Sunday
- The National Mall will hold their traditional free concert. The stars include: Bruce Springsteen, Josh Groban, John Mellencamp, Shakira, Mary J. Blige, Herbie Hancock, Garth Brooks, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, U2, Beyonce, Usher, and James Taylor.
- Jessica Alba will host Declare Yourself, a youth voter initiative, dubbed "A New Birth of Citizenship." Maroon 5 and DJ Samantha Ronson will perform, and Jamie Foxx and John Legend will attend.
Monday
- Spike Lee will appear at Howard University to discuss the impact of Obama on Black America. Other important people to appear include Rev. Al Sharpton, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., and Cornel West.
- Jay-Z will perform "In Concert on the Eve on Change" at the Warner Theater.
- Oprah will host a live taping of her show at the Kennedy Center Opera House. She has not released her plans for the rest of her trip, but she will also tape her show on Wednesday in Washington.
- The teen brigade (Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers and Bow Wow ) will hsot "Kids' Inaugural: We Are the Future" at the Verizon Center and on air at the Disney Channel. Michelle Obama and Jill Biden and their families will host the concert.
- The "America Feels Kinda Cool Again Inaugural Gala" will feature the Beastie Boys, Sheryl Crow and Citizen Cope.
Tuesday
The Neighborhood Ball, with performances by Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Faith Hill and Blige. ABC will broadcast for Washington residents at the Washington Convention Center.
