The LA Coroner's Office ruled the death of Scott Ruffalo—younger brother of actor Mark Ruffalo—as a homicide of Wednesday.

The 39-year-old hair stylist was shot in the head, according to investigators. He was found with a gunshot wound on Dec. 1, and died a week later in the hospital after being released from life support.

While two people—Shaha Mishaal Adham and Brian B. Scofield—were initially arrested, they was later released. Adham’s attorney said at the time of her release that Ruffalo had shot himself while playing Russian roulette.

The police have no motive for the shooting at this time.

Scott Ruffalo’s family released a statement thanking the public for their support, and saying that the funeral would be a private affair.

Scott’s older brother, Mark, has appeared in “Blindness,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Zodiac.”
