If you are looking for a fun place with heart, think about trying Freebirds.  With a young, spirited environment, lots of fresh produce, and an attitude towards giving back, this omnivore restaurant has a few options for the vegan diner.  All the tortillas, beans, salsas (and vegetables) are vegan. The corn is roasted fresh every morning on the grill. It’s quite easy and delicious to make a whole meal for the vegan diner, with vegan tacos and burritos, chips, salsa, and salad available at your request.  The beans are made fresh every morning, too.

Freebirds gives assistance to Haiti

At the Arlington Highlands restaurant in Arlington, TX, the incredible staff members established a drive effort that encouraged guests to bring bottled water and blankets into the restaurant. They partnered with UNICEF and American Airlines to ship these items and guarantee that the victims of the Haiti disaster would receive them quickly. They proved that with the right attitude, we can make a positive impact in our world.

Freebirds helps our local animal shelter

On January 16, 2010 volunteers from Arlington Highlands restaurant joined forces with the Arlington Animal Shelter and assisted with a mobile adoption day. These mobile adoption units allow folks in the community to meet the animals face to face and fall in love with them. Freebird employees assisted with handling the animals, sharing adoption information, and of course playing with the puppies!

The goal of the shelter is to encourage responsible pet ownership by offering licensing and educational programs. Freebirds staff in this part of Texas are consistent supporters of these efforts and never back out on the chance to help local pets that are looking for a home. They have been a real boon to the efforts of the new animal shelter in helping to place as many animals as possible.

Other Freebirds locations support other local charities, such as volunteers from the Houston location, who volunteer at Houston's Habitat for Humanity, providing for families in need of stable housing.
