Potomac Paddlesports offers a comprehensive whitewater kayaking program for beginners, providing free use of high-quality equipment, learn-at-your-own-pace scheduling, free weekly practice nights, free "anytime" rentals at our retail store, and access to a unique social network.
Their instructors are all certified by the American Canoe Association, and a significant portion their lesson fee goes to efforts aimed at restoring and protecting the Potomac River.
Level 1 Package Beginner Package | $585
This course allows you two years to master whitewater kayaking at your own pace. Staff will develop your skills over the course of four classes and weekly practice nights. Classes can be taken to fit your schedule. All equipment is provided.

Whitewater Fundamentals Lesson | $125
For folks who would rather dip their toe over diving in head first, Potomac Paddlesports offers a fun-filled, 5 hour lesson on flat water. The course focuses on paddlers becoming comfortable in their boats, under the water, and rolling the kayak. The flat water environment, students can expect to learn the basics faster. And, if in the end you realize you should have signed up for the bigger package, you are able to upgrade.
Upgrade to Beginner Lesson Package | $495
Picking up where Whitewater Fundamentals left off, this class is made up of lessons 2-4: two indoor rolling lessons. Students will also get free weekly practice nights, post-practice social events, free equipment rentals, as well as a golden opportunity to network with paddlers at the same skill level.
