This Saturday the Office of Mayor Ronald V. Dellums will present a free one-day event titled the Making Your Home Affordable Clinic. The purpose will be to assist families who are having difficulty maintaining their monthly mortgage payments. The event is expected to offer some qualified homeowners the chance to acquire a loan modification, approved by a loan servicer, on site.
The function will be held at Oakland City Hall , 1 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, from 10 am to 2 pm and is being sponsored by NID Housing Counseling Agency. NID is a HUD approved counseling agency that provides housing clinics and legal counseling to homeowners. NID typically provides forms for applicants to fill out on site, then their certified counselors meet individually with homeowners.
Attendees are advised to bring 2 months of their most recent mortgage statements, 1 month of current pay stubs, 3 months of bank statements, current property tax statement, 2 years of tax returns, current homeowners insurance policy, monthly bills, any personal loan statement, recent credit card statement, and a letter describing why you are seeking assistance.
This is a free clinic. For more information you can check out the Makingyourhomeaffordable.org website. No appointments are necessary.
