Running can be a very beneficial exercise to those who are capable of doing so, and is a more strenuous level of cardiovascular endurance than that of lets say bicycling or walking. Making sure your hips, knee and ankles all align before taking up to high speeds on the pavement or treadmill are key in having a successful run. If you run on the insides or outside of your feet you will feel pain in your hips and knees. In addition, taking too wide of a stride can cause braking, which means your body is essentially jolted because you have gone past your range of motion in your natural running stride. Another good tip while running is, propel your arms back and forth while your elbows are bent, giving the illusion of repeatedly hitting a nail into a board with a a hammer. Lastly remember to pick up your feet and let your hips open up to allow your body to fall into its comfortable stride, dragging your feet will wear you out faster because the brute of the force from the run is jarring on your shins and calves. These tips are helpful in creating a more ease to your run, and with ease comes longevity, and with longevity comes a higher calories burn! We are willing to run longer and more efficiently if our form is correct.
