Our abdominals are hands down the most stubborn area of our body to tone. Though with a healthy diet and cardiovascular program a fit mid region is not a unrealistic goal.
If you practice the two, healthy diet and cardio, there is a few helpful hints that can help the look of your abs like Keira Knightley.
- First remember your abs are unique to you so stop copying your neighbors ab workout at the gym, you do not look like him and neither will your abs.
- Next, work all areas of your abdomen region, the sides- external/internal obliques/front-rectus abdominis and core-transverse abdominis.
- Working all regions help with stability, posture and the overall look of your physique. It could mean the difference between being hunched over with a sagging gut to being erect with a flat stomach.
- Challenge your ab workout, try a new workout each day.
- For example, Monday- crunches, Tuesday-side crunches, Wednesday reverse crunches, Thursday-bicycle crunches, etc..
- Try doing 100 of each in segments of 10 between your exercises. For example, Squats then crunches, chest press then crunches, bicep curl then crunches, and before you know it you've done a heck of an ab workout.
- Change your surface, get off the ground and try doing crunches on a BOSU or Stability Ball.
Basically your abs need a challenge just as the rest of the muscles in your body do to avoid a plateau. If you do the same ab routine everyday your body will get bored and produce no results. The idea is simple switch up the ab regimes you do daily, increase the repetition volume and work every angle.
