With the weather getting cold(er) in Chicago this time of the year usually comes along with an uneasy feeling that the fun is over. Ha! This is not the case, my friends. While I have always been a bigger fan of balmy weather I am also giving a big thumbs up to the fun concerts that are on their way to a venue near us (Read around our great city of Chicago)!
I give you my top 5 music acts that are coming to the Chicagoland area in September 2009 (in no particular order):
1). The Mars Volta will be coming to Chicago and playing at Congress Theater on September 11th. With their crazy awesome new album having come out recently, this show is going to be great!
2) Exploding with talent, Regina Spektor will take the stage at Chicago Theatre on September 12th with her trusty piano in tow.
3). One of the best British dance-pop performer to come from Europe since Yelle, Little Boots will stomp her way into your head with her catchy, make-you-want-to-bust-a-move tunes. Check her out at Empty Bottle on September 17th.
4). I love Sondre Lerche. There, I said it! Most recently known from writing/performing the entirety of the Dan in Real Life soundtrack, Lerche has a wonderful voice and unparalleled talent. Swoon with me over Sondre Lerche at Schubas on September 19th – I will be able to die happy after this concert!
5). Brace yourself for the band that it creating quite a buzz! Phoenix, the hottest thing to come out of France since their delicious potato creations (Read French fries, duh!) is coming to the Aragon on September 23rd to blow you mind!
With these 5 awesome acts coming just in September, this Fall/Winter is looking like a lot more fun now, isn’t it? Thought so.
