Brooke Shields has lived most of her career in the public eye, since her first modeling job at age 11 months to her infamous Calvin Klein ad at age 15 she has always had a sex kitten appeal to her.  Fast foward to her life now and she is mother of two girls, Rowan Francis, 5 1/2 and Grier Hammond, 2 1/2  stretching her schedule to accomodate her family. The actress of the series Lipstick Jungle often finds herslef on set for 14 hour days and comes home to her girls to do normal mom stuff. In the December issue of Cookie Magazine, Brooke reveals that her days of doing as she pleases are long gone. She often finds herself exhausted at the end of the day but sprawled out on the floor playing My Little Pony while "her brain turns to mush". Brooke and her girls have made a home in New York City while her husband Chris Henchy commutes every other weekend to spend time with his family, an arranggement that is tough on everyone.

However, despite the grueling schedule, she admits its nessecary to create lasting memories with her children. The busy mom has finally managed to feel a sense of normalcy in her life becuase of her daughters- everyday occurences such as school plays and playdates keep her grounded. The 43 year old actress explains "It took having a child, for me to feel like I belong, that I'm normal."

While Brooke wants to raise her children to be well rounded and have manners, she will not tolerate her girls having friends that don't.

"There are so few children I like. If you're not polite, you can't come to my house. Manners represent respect and kindness. I want people to like my kids, and if they're bratty, they'll have a harder time in life."

Like so many other mom's she finds raising kids is a balancing act  with moments of desperation, but the actress tries to embrace the mundane lifestyle filled with , sleep deprivation, school drop offs and My Lttle Pony marathons and all of that good stuff that kids will remember as their childhood memories.
