Whitewater rafting is a fun and exciting sport that can be enjoyed by many different people. Because every river is unique, people of all whitewater rafting experience levels - from beginner to advanced - will be able to find an experience that suits their preferences. A whitewater rafting trip is a good opportunity for a group or family activity, and is also a good exercise in teamwork and teambuilding. Rafting also allows people to enjoy beautiful outdoor scenery from a different perspective. One of the more prominent areas in the eastern United States for whitewater rafting experiences is in the Appalachian mountains and foothills of western North Carolina and east Tennessee. This article will show you how to find whitewater rafting opportunities in east Tennessee.
First, use the internet to find information about the various rivers in east Tennessee that allow for whitewater rafting.
The specific rivers in east Tennessee that are popular for whitewater rafting include:
- Ocoee River
- Upper and Lower Pigeon River
- French Broad River
- Nolichucky River
- Hiwassee River
- Obed River
- Tellico River
- Watauga River
Next, use the internet to search for various whitewater rafting outfitter companies that lead rafting trips on these rivers. If it is a good and reputable outfitter company, then the website should list all their rafting trips and itineraries in detail (and give information about the skill level needed for each trip such as beginner, intermediate, or advanced, and the class of rapids the trip will travel through). The site should also offer much information about each trip and information about each river they operate on, and list prices for the various types of packages they offer.
Once you decide on a particular trip on a specific river, then you can contact a rafting company and book your adventure. Now you will be on your way to an exciting and fun day of whitewater rafting in east Tennessee.
