Act fast on these great airfare deals today
Several airlines are offering great airfare deals this week, with fares that haven’t been this low since the 1990s. For example, Southwest Airlines is offering airfare as low as $30 each way (plus taxes and fees, and with certain stipulations of course). But quick action is required to obtain tickets at these low rates. As with most deals, these won’t last long. In fact, some will expire within 24 to 48 hours from now. So, check out these deals and start planning a trip somewhere this fall!
Southwest Airlines
Southwest’s “Every City on Sale for 48 Hours” sale ends today. So act quickly! One-way ticket prices are as follows: $30 for destinations up to 400 miles from point of departure; $60 for destinations 401 to 750 miles from origin; and $90 for destinations more than 750 miles from origin. Tickets must be purchased by the end of the day on July 8, 2009. Travel is valid for September 9, 2009 through November 18, 2009. Travel on these special fares is valid every day except Friday and Saturday. In the Carolinas, Southwest Airlines flies out of Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and offers non-stop service from there to Phoenix, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago (Midway), Nashville, Tampa Bay, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Baltimore/Washington, and Philadelphia (see Route Map). Connections from these cities to the many other cities served by Southwest are easily arranged.
AirTran Airways
AirTran’s “Book a Change of Scenery” sale is going on for three days and ends on July 9, 2009. Fares starting at $39 each way are available (plus taxes and fees). A ten day advanced purchase is required and travel is valid through November 11, 2009. Lowest sale fares are valid for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Additional sale fares are valid for travel on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Fares from Charlotte Douglas International Airport range from $39 to $154 each way. AirTran offers non-stop service from Charlotte to Atlanta (with a large hub), Orlando, and Baltimore, with connections to many other destinations across the country (see Route Map).
Frontier Airlines
Frontier’s “It’s a Whale of a Sale” is currently going on now through July 14, 2009. Fares are available from $34 to $199 each way (plus taxes and fees). Tickets must be purchased by July 14, 2009, and travel is valid from August 10, 2009 to January 15, 2010. Fares are for off-peak travel days/times and certain blackout dates are in effect. Concerning the Carolinas specifically, the nearest airports served by Frontier Airlines include Atlanta, Nashville, and Washington DC (Reagan). Most flights pass through Frontier’s hub in Denver (see Route Map).
These airfare specials announced by Southwest, Air Tran, and Frontier may have sparked other airlines to cut airfare rates as well. So, check out a variety of options to get the most trip for your buck.
