Charlotte Symphony presents “Celebrate America”
Independence Day (4th of July in the United States) is a day for everyone to renew their sense of patriotism and to celebrate such good fortune of being able to live in a land of freedom and liberty.
With this in mind, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, as part of their Summer Pops series, presents the annual “Celebrate America” patriotic concert on Friday, July 3. The concert is outdoors, takes place at Symphony Park in SouthPark, and includes preludes beginning at 7:00 PM followed by the orchestra at around 8:15 PM. The “Celebrate America” concert on July 3 is one of the symphony’s most popular of the entire year, so plan accordingly and arrive early. The symphony, under the direction of Albert-George Schram, has a program that will please people of all ages. From patriotic music favorites, including “America the Beautiful,” and “Armed Forces Salute,” and John Philip Sousa’s “Liberty Bell March,” to Tchaikovsky’s familiar “1812 Overture,” the symphony will undoubtedly put on a performance that will delight yet another audience, just as they have in years past. And to top that off, the concert culminates in an impressive and spectacular display and array of fireworks.
