Looking for a fun way to get away for a weekend trip in the very near future without breaking your transportation budget? Despite these times of economic recession, it is still possible to book a flight to one of many destinations without bankrupting your wallet. For starters, look no further than the Charlotte Airport, with many nonstop flights offered by U.S. Airways from its hub here to a wide variety of destinations across the United States, the Caribbean and Mexico, Canada, and Europe. 

Often, airlines will offer discount seats on last minute flights in order to fill them. If you’re a little adventurous, your schedule is flexible, and you can travel either this weekend or the next couple of weekends, you may be able to find a decent deal on a nonstop flight for a quick escape to a great destination. 

Below are some sample last minute nonstop airfares found today (Wednesday April 22, 2009) on Kayak.com. These fares are roundtrip and nonstop from Charlotte Douglas International Airport and most (depending on the ultimate vendor) include taxes and fees as well. Nonstop is the way to go when you’re only making a short weekend trip, so as to maximize your time at your destination and minimize the chance of a delay in transit. The dates listed for each destination represent the departure and return date. As your can see, the possibilities for a weekend away from your normal routine are bountiful. You could try exploring a new city in another part of the country or even on another continent, or soak in the sun from a palm-lined beach on a Caribbean island. But whatever you decide to do or wherever you decide to go, have a fun time!
