We all have our own family traditions when it comes to celebrating Christmas. Some have large gatherings with extended family, while others spend time with their immediate families or with friends. But most people carry on familiar Christmas traditions from one year to the next.  Although Christmas Day this year in 2008 has just now come and gone, the holiday season certainly isn’t over. With this in mind it is interesting to discover and learn about how Christmas is celebrated around the world as well as what you might do to celebrate Christmas while also traveling in different places. National Geographic has put together a nice blog called “The World of Christmas” about popular things to see and do to celebrate Christmas in various cities and countries around the world. Some of the Christmas traditions from across the globe covered on this site by National Geographic include Berlin, Montreal, Washington DC, Santiago, New Orleans, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, Dublin, San Francisco, Moscow, New York City, London, Chicago, Rome, and Paris. So, if your travels next December take you to any of these places, remember some of the Christmas related events that will be taking place and make plans to attend.
