New city watering rules in Sacramento, odd/even

City of Sacramento

In a city in which traditionally homes have been built without water meters newcomers and others have wondered, "When can I water my lawn?"

New rules went into effect on June 12th and the city's website provides details:

Sacramento "has an odd/even watering schedule.  Homes and businesses with an address ending in an odd number (1,3,5,7,9) may water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.  Homes and businesses with an address ending in an even number (2,4,6,8,0) may water on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.  No watering is allowed on Mondays.

The Sacramento City Council approved the proposed changes to the outdoor water conservation ordinance.
