SF near 19th and Judah

Caltrans is undertaking numerous improvement projects that will effect those traveling portions of state route 1 and highways 84 and 220 in the Delta.  Caltrans is taking out of operations two (free) ferries.

Real McCoy provides service between Cache Slough and Ryer Island as part of highway 84 and J-Mack crosses Steamboat Slough as part of 220.  Real McCoy goes out of service at 3 PM Monday and will return from drydock in about 30 days.  J-Mack goes away upon the return of Real McCoy for repairs including a paint job.

To the south Caltrans and several San Francisco agencies are tackling improvements along the portion of route 1 through SF along 19th Avenue and Park Presidio boulevard.  In our post Streets of danger we discussed the hazards of crossing intersections along 19th Avenue.  The projects include repaving, traffic signal upgrade and pedestrian safety improvements.
