In today’s San Francisco Chronicle Columnists Phil Matier and Andrew Ross wrote an article on how the San Francisco cops will no longer impound cars of drivers who are “pulled over” for the first time who are found operating without a valid California Drivers license.
The article goes on to state this is an undue hardship affecting many “illegal’s” who are operating a motor vehicle without a license, and since they are here illegally the can't afford to obtain a license as well.
This article additionally points out the steps the drivers need to take under these circumstances in order to avoid having their car impounded and if this offense was to occur again within six months the individuals car would be impounded which is consistent with the “law”.
Selective enforcement towards illegals? Sanctuary issues that is politically driven? This policy appears to be politically driven towards certain communities one can only wonder if this policy would apply to everyone in the City and County of San Francisco, contrary to the policies of other local municipalities where the letter of the law is upheld, routinely and consistently. Hopefully as drivers we wouldn’t have to learn the hard way, by getting caught driving without a valid California drivers license. I have enclosed the link for the article.
Special thanks to The Chronicle's Matier and Ross for thei inside scoop once again! follow the link to the specific article in today's "Chron"
