Tailgating, blocking intersections, being in a hurry and failing to consider wet slippery roads, along with limited visibility seemed to characterize the commute into the City this morning. The first major storm of the season has brought “hurricane force winds” lots of moisture that’s been long overdue.
Why do we as drivers seem to forget how to drive or compensate for these conditions, this morning it was “as if ” a majority of the drivers on local routes into the city such as: Skyline(highway 35) North, or Sloat boulevard which transitioned into Market St, were actually exceeding the speed limit in order to “make that light” or get ahead of the pack of cars they seemed to impatiently follow, until their tolerance for the slow moving traffic ended.
The storms intensity continues and according to the forecasts and the enclosed article there is “more to come” Currently there is ongoing flooding everywhere, ongoing power outages affect 95,000.00 people and there over 250 accidents so far.
When you go home of have to drive remember:
Two hands on the wheel, Leave earlier and be patient, slowdown, keep a good space distance between you and the other vehicles in front of you, take an alternative route which might be less congested make sure you pay attention to your surroundings and stay of the phone.
