If you are a fan of numerology sometimes you try to apply it to sport. In Argentina they have been doing the same as they are starting to see parallels between them and Brazil.
It took Brazil 24 years to win another World after Pelé retired. Well next year will mark 24 years since they last lifted the Jules Rimet trophy with Diego Maradona leading the way. Brazil had the best player on the planet on their squad in Romário, Argentina will have Lionel Messi. Facts? Yes. Coincidences? Absolutely. Does numerology really work? I don't know but it sure as hell is fun!
Adidas continues to show its jerseys as they have presented the French and Spanish kits for the upcoming World Cup. Their next presentation is the Argentine national team. In it are a few elements that were in place in that mythical 1986 jersey that was designed by Le Coq Sportif. For starters, the crest comes with a blue background much like 1986 jersey, could it make a difference?

The texture of the jersey maintains traditions of the past but is able to use the subtleties of the modern jersey to truly peak the interest of fans all over. Gone are the black stripes along the shoulders; replacing them are the white one that stop halfway down. The jersey also has a sun on the back of the jersey located right below the collar with the final two phrases of the national anthem: "Coronados de gloria vivamos, o juremos con gloria morir". (Blessed with glory we live, or let's vow to die with glory.)
The Albiceleste will don these jerseys next week when they head to Spain to play the reigning European champs.
