In the world of social media networks, Twitter offers a unique platform that gives it's users an unprecedented level of access to individuals ranging from huge multi-nation corporate reps, to well-known celebrities (according to BBC Deeme Moore and Ashton Kutcher wrote to Susan Boyle expressing their support via twitter to the amazement of fans).

Twitter is a marvelous tool for the modern traveler providing instant information on trip deals, to location and venue tips posted by twitter users.

You Want To Fly Where?!

One of the best features of Twitter is the ability to find deals directly from the hotel or airline you are looking to use, especially since they tend tweet about general discounts, and also late breaking deals that might save you money in the end.

You over booked the hotel? Where's my bed?

Is the front desk clerk at the hotel causing you to want to bang your head against the wall? Please don't! Most companies now hire armies of bloggers to comb the web, protecting their brand image from bad PR. It is especially true with Twitter.

The trick is post a tweet about the company in question using their full name, and a short message attached.
"Cranky Hotel San Francisco you overbooked! Where's my bed?"

You could try the @ trick as well. By adding the @ symbol to the front of your tweet it puts in it's own timeline dealing only with that subject.

Searching Twitter can reveal some companies PR people directly like.
