New Orleans Creole Café
Located at 2482 San Diego Avenue, this café is nestled in the historical heart of San Diego, Old Town making it perfect for a lunch stop over. Try their Blackened Chicken a personal favorite of mine, and don’t forget to wash it down with a glass of their amazing sweet tea.

Tin Smith of Old Town
A traditional Tin Smith located on the edge of the State Historical Park, this little shop features some amazing hand made tin lanterns made right in front of you if the Tin Smith is in. One can also place orders for individual pieces like tin coasters that can come in various shapes and sizes depending on availability. Best to ask the Tin Smith yourself.

Gum Saan

Known as the land of the Golden Mountain, this marvelous little store specializes in all things of classical Chinese culture that would be have known to California during the Wild West period. Wandering about the store, one might notice the hand crafted pearl jewelry made from fresh water Chinese pearls to the hand knotted silk pearl necklaces of the South Sea kind all made directly in the store. Do make sure to look at their collect of painted snuff bottles to traditional temple tiles, and wonderful Tibetan apothecary chests.

Old Town Mexican Café
Recommended to your San Diego Gay Travel Examiner by the national Best Value Travel Examiner, who says “That they have a great hand at making sauces, and their Mexican food does not taste like other Mexican food places. It has a unique, and wonderful flavor.” Personally I find their Chili Verde burritos a delicious meal and great value.

Ye Olde Soap Shoppe
Perfect for all your gilded lily needs, be they perfumed shampoos or green tea soaps. Using them for all my soaps and shampoos, I am especially fond of their lavender, jasmine and sweet orange scents. Dedicated to making pure and natural products, they use only the most natural all vegetable-bases for their herbal soaps.
