Spicy, Exotic, Zesty, sound intriguing? If that is the case then Baja Betty’s is the place for you! San Diego’s very own original Gay Mexican Restaurant, Baja Betty’s is an authentic tequila bar which boasts 100 different varieties for the tasting.

Until recently your San Diego Gay Travel Examiner was a Baja Virgin. Being kidnapped by other Betty Fans, I was introduced to the pleasure of the Fagatini. A curiously smooth blended martini mixed with Absolut Citron, Raspberry Liqueur, and Pineapple Juice, this drink is perfect for any classic Martini Connoisseur who is looking to try something virbrate.

Chatting up the extremely cute, and straight (Yes, I said Straight) waiter Brian, who comes highly recommend for ones fun dining experience, your San Diego Gay Travel Examiner discovered his favorite dish and drink.

Paco’s Fish Tacos promises a simple elegance that is perfect for marking the end of a busy workday. Fleshly battered cod filets stuffed into corn tortillas, topped with a feisty mixture of cabbage, salsa fresca, and their signature Baja Sauce is sure to tantalize your taste buds. Bohemia Beer is fabulous end to an already delicious feast, and is a great way to relax, and let your troubles wash away with its dark frothy flavor.

Baja Betty’s is found at 1421 University Avenue, down the block from the infamous Alibi Bar in Hillcrest, San Diego 92103. Call (619) 269-8510 for reservations on the Weekends.
