Lady Gaga performs at 2009 VMAs at Radio City Music Hall in NYC

MTV's Video Music Awards last night was awash with bisexual celebrities and bicons including Lady Gaga, Russell Brand, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, Katy Perry, Madonna, Pink, Pete Wentz, Janet  Jackson, Megan Fox, Beyoncee, Shakira and Michael Jackson via video.

First of all, the VMA host was the very bisexual Brit comedian Russell Brand, who spent the previous week flirting with male & female talk show hosts to promote the awards show.

Russell joked that his goal for the evening was to get into Lady Gaga's bisexual pants and that since questions had been raised as to whether she was a hermaphrodite, if he found something inside them,  "I'll just make it stiff and hang my hat on it."  He also joked that in England, "fanny" means vagina, not ass. "So if you say (bleeped out), I'll probably do it, regardless of your accent," implying that he swings both ways.

Later in the evening after riffing about how he is scheming to get (openly bisexual) presenter Megan Fox into his dressing room, he joked that since last year when he performed at the VMAs, Little Wayne has gotten three girls pregnant and "I shook his hand a couple of days ago and am now expecting his baby."

Bicon Madonna, who famously kissed Britney Spears and Cristina Aguilera at the 2003 VMAs, kicked off the show with a tribute speech to Michael Jackson (who was recently revealed to have had male lovers & was previously married to Lisa Marie Presley.)

A video medley of Michael Jackson songs played on a giant screen. Partway through "Scream," sister Janet Jackson (who revealed she was attracted to women during interviews for her Velvet Rope album) busted out of the set and did an amazing dance duet, matched with her brother Michael's movements up on the screen.

Lady Gaga performed with a bevy of male & female dancers dressed in white lingerie. The men appeared to be semi-crossdressed in female-ish attire with a fetish edge. She also had a female dancer in a bejewelled wheelchair.

Lady Gaga's video "Poker Face" won her the Best New Artitst award. Lady Gaga has revealed the song was about how she put's on a "poker face" to avoid revealing her bisexuality. Poker Face also won Best Art Direction & Best Special Effects. She dedicated the award to her fans, God and "the gays."

Green Day, fronted by openly bisexual musician Billie Joe Armstrong, won Best Rock Video for "21 Guns" which also won Best direction & Best Cinematography. Their VMA performance was introduced by openly bisexual actress Megan Fox and ended with Billie Joe inviting audience members up on stage to dance.

Fall Out Boy, featuring "half gay" front man Pete Wentz who has been candid about making out with guys and often kisses or licks band members on stage, who were also nominated for Best Rock Video, stood up to applaud Green Day as they made their way to the stage to accept their award. Pete is married to Ashlee Simpson who stars on the new Melrose Place which features a bisexual character.  Here is a clip of Pete Wentz kissing Patrick stump on stage at a concert:

Tyson Ritter, his naked chest covered in glitter, performed "Gives You Hell" in a pre-recorded performance with his band All American Rejects.  The below video shows Pete Wentz kissing Tyson at a concert:

Brittney Spears, who kissed Madonna at the 2003 VMAs and who made news for her bisexual pool parties with other women (according to her ex) won Best Pop Video for "Womanizer."

Pink, who openly admits she has "experimented" with women made her entrance by fire truck in front of Radio City Music Hall during the VMA preshow. Pink was nominated for Best Female Video for "So What" and brought down the house by performing "Sober" while doing trapeze tricks 30 feet in the air. She was blindfolded and strapped into a safety harness then lifted into the air by wires while singing, then threw it off to climb onto a hanging platform occupied by a muscly trapeze artist. Singing from the platform while the trapeze guy settled himself on the bar and holding his hands, Pink lay on top of him, then flipped over so she was dangling from his hands as he was dangling from his knees, all while singing. They then performed several trapeze tricks and then Pink was lowered while performing flips...all while Pink was singing.

Here is Pink in a similar trapeze performance of Sober while on tour:

For her performance, she wore a glittery purple unitard that appeared nude one side with a hot pink heart-shaped pastie over her nipple and had a black & white harlequin diamond pattern on one leg.

Taylor Swift's win created high drama when Kanye West jumped the stage in the middle of her speech to insist that Beyonce should have won (which she did later.)

Katy Perry, whose "I Kissed a Girl" song made her a bicon, sang "I Love Rock & Roll."

Beyonce (many a bi girl's dreamgirl) performed in a high cut, cleavage-baring, silver & black lace leotard and heels, beginning with a very sexy solo dance and ending with a production number of her nominated song, "Put a Ring On It."  Who could forget the SNL parody of Put a Ring On It with Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg crossdressed in heels & leotards.

Beyonce won for Video of the Year and graciously invited Taylor Swift up on stage to finish her acceptance speech.

For the finale, Alicia Keys, who is rumored to be bisexual, performed with Jay-Z on his song "Empire State of Mind."

If you missed the show and all the bi-tastic moments therein, it will rerun on MTV every day for the next week.
