Teanne Harris is a brave and fabulous young woman. When her fiancé got cold feet just a couple days before the wedding, she and her mom went to get their deposit back from the wedding hall. Not possible, too late. Sitting in the park, trying to come to terms with the financial loss on top of the emotional loss, she looked across the street. Her eye was caught by a sign for a retirement center. She turned her Halloween-themed wedding into a wonderful gift for the elderly. The organization was stunned and grateful. The elderly guests were delighted and thrilled to meet the young woman who came to their party and smiled with them. Read more about it here. (Thanks to C. Siemaszko for a very bittersweet story.)

Then she flew off to Hawaii on her honeymoon, by herself. The company had to be better than what she was going to get with her shoulda-been groom. She's done something to be proud of and given a wonderful gift. A couple days before your wedding is not the time to figure out you don't want to be married. Better then than afterward, you say. Well, maybe, but really, figure it out. There's absolutely no reason to hurt someone you love so badly. This was a couple in their 30s. He's old enough to know what he feels and to know he needed to end the relationship more than a few days before the wedding. Shame on him.

But, Teanne? You go girl! May you find health and happiness and healing. And when your heart is healed a bit a true love who will make you happy you were free to find him.
