Always the sweetheart, Cameron smiles big for the camera.

Cameron Diaz is clearly on our coast. She was seen attending the after party for Amy Poehler's last SNL episode, and she was also spotted at Shrek The Musical on the Great White Way (for those out of touch with city theater speak, that's Broadway). Cammie is the voice of Princess Fiona in the big screen versions of the ogre tale, so it makes sense that she'd take some time out to see her character hit the stage.

Diaz is one of my favorite actresses out there. A former model, she's always dressed impeccably, whether it be in a hot pink minidress or in her signature t-shirt and jeans look. She manages to lend the same energy to a laid back california cool outfit that she does to a party dress. Not to mention, she's well respected. Though she started out doing comedies (her turn in "There's Something About Mary" was hilarious and I've got a big soft spot for her character in chick flick "The Sweetest Thing"), Cameron easily progressed to more mature roles.

Next up, we'll see her in the big screen adaptation of Jodi Picoult's novel, "My Sister's Keeper", in which she'll play (gasp!) a mother. Many actresses are lauded for their "ugly" roles (think Charlize in Monster), so we'll see if this role does the same for Diaz. Shots have showed her looking less than perfect, and I have to admire that she's taking a chance with this film. If the movie is as good as the novel, Cameron's looking at Oscar potential.
