According to numbers released by Nielsen, this past Saturday night's Fedor Emelianenko vs Brett Rogers live MMA event averaged a household rating of 2.5 throughout the broadcast and peaked with 5.46 million during the main event. The record peak for MMA on CBS was 6.51 million viewers with an average of 4.85 million for EliteXC's first foray into national TV when Kimbo Slice fought James Thompson.

The success of the programming should ensure that MMA fans can look forward to seeing Strikeforce live on CBS again in 2010.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker commented after the fights that a bout between Fabricio Werdum and Emelianenko "makes sense." It is a distinct possibility that fight could main event the next Saturday Night Fights event.
