On Tuesday the Atlanta Falcons placed 2009 second-round draft selection William Moore on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
The safety, active for only two games in 2009, totaled two special teams tackles in the season, both coming in Week 6 against Chicago.
With the free roster spot, the Falcons signed free-agent running back Aaron Stecker, a nine-year veteran of the NFL, most recently with New Orleans in 2007.
The 5'10", 213 pound running back spent 2000-03 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 2004-07 with the Saints. He's totaled 381 carries for 1,511 yards and eight touchdowns in 120 games, including 16 starts. He is also a major contributor on special teams, tallying 167 kickoff returns for 3,880 yards and one touchdown, the touchdown earning in NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors in 2004.
Stecker was a member of the 2002 Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Additionally Atlanta placed cornerback Glenn Sharpe on practice squad-injured and signed safety Eric Brock to the practice squad.
Sharpe joined the Falcons in August of 2008 as a practice squad member where he also began this season.
Brock, a teammate of Sharpe's on the practice squad last season, spent the final game of 2008 against St. Louis on the 53-man roster. He was a training camp player with the Falcons before being released in the final round of cuts.
