EAT at 111 Minna used to happen but once a month. Now, we're all in for a treat: chef Tommy Halvorson and local artists and musicians are making it happen each and every Monday.

If you're not familiar with EAT at 111 Minna, Halvorson has been preparing weekly dinners in the airy gallery space downtown, drawing musicians, foodies, artists, and yelpers. The event is designed as a social dining experience that brings together food, music, and art. This upcoming week, Nov. 16, 111 Minna is exhibiting "The Novemberists" with 16 artists including Matt Gonzalez, Kelly Nicolaisen, and Jesse Gidcumb. In addition, Senor Oz of Afroliscious will provide music and entertainment.

Halvorson uses organic produce sourced from local farms to create an innovative weekly menu. On Nov. 16, dinner will include sliders with heirloom pepper relish, wild boar sausages on a potato roll, housemade flatbread featuring mushrooms from local foragers at Wineforest, a green salad with bacon vinaigrette and pecorino, a fresh pasta, and cupcakes by Kingdom Cake.

In a sense, EAT is straddling the casual pop-up food movement with more refined restaurant dining. It is an experience like no other: stellar art, a unique dining space, a rotating menu with carefully chosen ingredients, and other like-minded folks all gathered together to share a meal.
