Fifth Street Farms in Berkeley is hosting an evening Saturday, November 7th, for  the Gonzalo Bergara Quartet. There are still seats available upon invitation.  Bergara, an Argentinian musician, has a new CD release Portena Soledad which has glowing reviews.  In both Guitar Player Magazine, Vintage Guitar Magazine, this work has been described as "a masterpiece" and the group which includes Rob Hardt, Jeffrey Radaich and Brian Netzley, as well as Bergara was recently named the Best Jazz Group in Los Angeles.  It is described as heavily influenced by Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France.
Fifth Street Farms, hosted by Steven Friedland, a musician himself and keen on a particular appreciation for the music and dance from the central part of France from "a couple of hundred years ago", is for and about the musicians  The $15/20 donation goes to the musicians.  Steven, a General Contractor and Developer as well as musician, has created a  room in his home specific to enhancing the quality of the music performed. The 16 feet ceilings and 800 square foot great room in the rebuilt 19th century home is kept available for music and dancing and the Fifth Street Farm evenings.  Steven's experience with musician friends at Music Camp "Lark in the Morning",  in Mendocino  focused on traditional French music and served as the basis for his desire to have this venue available for musicians to perform.  A member of a "Zapatos Crueles", Tango Group Quartet, Steven participates but does not work on development in making accessible musicians and their audiences finding each other by meeting musicians at www.concertinyourhome.com.  Hosts and musicians can share information about themselves and arrange concerts on an occasional basis, when the vibe is right and the feeling's mellow would seem like..  Steven's Fifth Street Farms seats 50, usually accoustic with no amplifiers, and from those who have attended provides an exceptional experience.

Requests can be made to be on the list of invited guests by contact with Steven at Fifthstfarms@gmail.com.  This particular Saturday, November 7th, there are seats still available for an outstanding the Gonzalo Bergara Quartet who have performed all over the world, Croatia, Italy, France, Germany, Hungary, Argentina, Brazil, England, Scotland and the Sweet and Hot Jazz Festival.   Once invited and on the list, Fifth Street Farms is the source of very special evenings in future presentations.
