The Pitted Olive, the dream of Mike and Melissa Holmes, has officially closed its doors. The once quaint little restaurant with its lovely patio seating has closed its doors. No more Thai noodles and Pitted Olive Greek salad or Grilled Portabella sandwich. The last day the restaurant was opened was November 29, according to their website.
Chef Holmes, formerly of Truffles in Ladue, is on the market again, which is the only good thing to come from the closing of this restaurant, if, indeed, he is on the market again. Whatever the case, this reporter is sorry to see them go. Our only hope is that a local snaps up Chef Holmes quickly. The demise of the Pitted Olive comes days before its third anniversary.
