Hi everyone! Thanks so much for finding the time in your busy schedule to come check out my articles on Examiner.com. If your life is anything like mine with two kids, different school schedules, very different afterschool activities, homework, making meals, walking the dog, oh yeah and trying to keep up a relationship with your husband, then you and I have a lot in common! Even if you have just one of the things in common with me, you'll find that we have more in common than you realize.

As the Charleston Family Examiner, I've got a lot to share with you about being a parent in the Charleston area. Frankly, I've still got a lot to learn, too. Like you, I lead a busy life and just like you, sometimes you just need a place to go where you can find just what you need to get you through a moment in time. So, right now, while Blues Clues is playing for one child and the other is doing her homework and while I have dinner cooking....oops, I guess I don't have dinner going yet, but that's another story. The point is, while I have a moment in time to write this, let me tell you a little about myself.

I was born in Charleston and met my husband while I was working at the Post and Courier newspaper. Some of you may remember me as the Living Single columnist (until I got married and the title of the column conflicted with my lifestyle) Now, I'm a stay-at-home mom who constantly looks for ways to keep her toddler busy with playdates, karate and the pre-school shuffle while keeping her older child busy with another school shuffle, homework and horseback riding. I also help my husband by marketing his orhtodontic practice. Then somewhere along the way, I find time to knit.

I will be writing all sorts of articles from kid-friendly activities to activities for just the two of you with a little the help from a babysitter. I'll also tackle health problems (food allergies and ashtma are a constant struggle in our  house) as well as child-rearing issues like peer pressure and cliques. As far as marital issues, the sky's the limit. Any ideas you have, I'd love to hear from you.

I hope to see you out and about around Charleston and the rest of the Lowcountry with your kids. Just keep an eye out for the busy mom with two sweet kids in tow and a shi-tzu on a leash. And if you see a frazzled woman with knitting needles in her hand trying to cope with the stress in her life, feel free to come up and tell me you read my articles. Just watch out for the needles!!!!
