Big news today out of the Under Consideration camp: Bryony Gomez-Palacio and Armin Vit have announced that Graphic Design, Referenced is live in the wild.

Described by the authors as "a visual and informational guide to the most commonly referenced terms, historical moments, landmark projects, and influential practitioners in the field of graphic design," the book clocks in at an impressive 400 pages. And if sample spreads like this, this, and this are any indication at all of the overall quality, it's a must-have.

Maybe the most impressive thing of all? At only $31.50 on Amazon the price is more than reasonable for a work of this size and scope.

I think work like this – deep, archival stuff – becomes more and more important the further we go into the New Media age. As awesome as the web is, it can never be as reliable or stable as a well-researched, well-produced piece of printed material.

Full review is on its way after I get my mitts on a copy.
