Keeping aquarium fish is a thoroughly enjoyable hobby but it can be frustrating at times. Water quality is a problem that is not easily detected. The Freshwater Master Test Kit from Aquarium Pharmaceuticals takes the guess work out of the equation. In one small package you will have everything needed to test for freshwater fish: pH, high range pH, ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. The kit includes computer-calibrated and laminated color cards, four glass test tubes and a holding tray as well as a complete, step-by-step instruction booklet. The booklet even includes information on how to correct unsafe water conditions.

This kit is both accurate and economical. According the manufacturer, it contains enough materials for over eight hundred tests. I purchased this kit a few years ago when I needed to do water testing for a college chemistry lab assignment. It was easy to use, especially for a beginner, and has certainly stood the test of time as I still have that same kit. Aquarium Pharmaceuticals products are available locally at Pacific Aquarium and Underwater World.
