Critter Adoption & Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.), Hillsborough County’s no-kill animal shelter in Ruskin, Fla., will present Boo Bash, a lighthearted party for animal lovers and their doggy family members or friends at its site, Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The event will feature vendors’ displays, including Exercising Paws pet sitter, Bark Busters at home dog training and Aussie Pet Mobile groomer, an open house, food, music, contests, prizes and off-leash play. Aussie Pet Mobile groomer will clip pups’ nails for $8, which will go to C.A.R.E.
Guests can be the judge in a pumpkin carving contest, and dogs have the opportunity to compete against each other in three costume contests. Dogs can also have fun romping around with other furry visitors in a fenced-in field and finding new friends. People are welcome to tour the shelter’s facilities while C.A.R.E.’s volunteers babysit their accompanying dogs. People interested in adopting a pet can stay on after the party to make arrangements.
The proceeds of Boo Bash will benefit C.A.R.E., a nonprofit shelter. The following businesses in the community contributed to the fundraiser: Cherry's Bar & Grill, Apollo Beach; Give A Dog A Bone, Apollo Beach; Beanie's, Ruskin; Alpha Pizza House, Apollo Beach; Wine Styles, Riverview; Cypress Creek golf course, Ruskin; Canine Cabana, Riverview.
