I considered purchasing a treadmill for myself at the start of the year, but it never translated into a New Year's resolution. In fact, this year I never got around to making resolutions. I could easily recycle last year's list.

But, perhaps your dog could use a treadmill and a new routine. Dog treadmills aren't just to hang clothes on (like the people versions), they can increase or maintain a healthy level of exercise for your canine. Those who live in apartments or cold-weather states find them very practical and folks rehabilitating their dog's health find them to be handy.

At $599. the treadmill pictured has all the safety features one could want from a treadmill for dogs. This particular model is available at PetEdge.com.

If I were wealthier and/or more eccentric I would buy a treadmill for myself and place one of these canine treadmills on either side for both of my dogs.

For more practical folks, there is always a brisk outdoor walk.
