A Boston veterinarian surgically reattached the face of a cat on Tuesday.
It's believed that Edgar, a four-year-old female, may have sought refuge from cold weather under the hood of a car.
After missing for three days Edgar was found at home in her litter box with her face skinned and hanging from her head. She was rushed to Angell Animal Medical Center where Dr. Michael Pavletic reattached her lacerated head.
Although the exact cause of Edgar's injuries remains unknown, the medical staff at Angell suggests that in cold weather months it is a good idea to tap loudly on the hood of your car, or sound the horn before starting your engine.
