Dieter Kurtenbach
Chicago Blackhawks Examiner | Bio
Find out more about Dieter:

Dieter Kurtenbach was born and raised on the west side of Chicago and cannot go near United Center without reminiscing about the time he went from his front door to Gate 3 in 12 minutes flat.

Hockey hasn't been the most popular sport in Chicago in the past, though it might be hard to believe with 22,000 people packing the UC every game now. Dieter found the sport when it was cheaper to buy a Blackhawks 300 level ticket than a movie ticket downtown. During the days of Daze, Thibault, Aucoin and Zhamnov it was not glamourous to be associated, in any way, with the Blackhawks.

Luckily times have changed. Dieter writes about the resurgent Blackhawks, the pride of Chicago, for Examiner.com. He also contributes to Blackhawks super blog thethirdmanin.com and edits Needs More Ditka, a Chicago sports blog in the Vox Fanaticus network.

He can be reached at dieterkurtenbach@gmail.com or followed on Twitter.
