It comes as no surprise that Steve Phillips has been fired from ESPN. The fallout from his brief affair with Brooke Hundley, a 22 year old production assistant, has proved to be a major embarrassment to Phillips, his family, and ESPN.
Having made himself and ESPN the butt of many jokes, and the laughing stock of the sports world last week, it was just a matter of time before they let the skirt-chasing Phillips go.
Another example of how infidelity doesn’t pay.
Infidelity Cost Him His Marriage and His Job
Steve Phillips’ infidelity has cost him his marriage and his job. This should be a lesson to every married man who has notions of fooling around with the females he works with.

Phillips should have known better. He has a history of sexual misconduct in the workplace. When he was General Manager of the Mets, he was involved in a sexual harassment case which was settled out of court – an ugly experience from which Phillips failed to learn.
Now Phillips’ skirt-chasing has cost him another job. And Marni, his wife has filed for divorce. What an example Phillips has set for his 4 sons.
When Infidelity, Mistresses, and Extramarital Affairs Get Out of Control
The Steve Phillips – Brooke Hundley affair should serve as a warning to every cheating husband or boyfriend about the damage that can be done when an affair or a mistress gets out of control.
When Phillips tried to break off his short-lived affair with Hundley, this didn’t sit well with her. So she planned her retaliation and ser about orchestrating her revenge. The news of the Phillips – Hundley affair with its soap opera-like elements spread like wildfire last week. The official police statements made by Phillips, his wife, Marni, and their 16 year old son documenting how Hundley stalked, harassed, and terrorized them circulated throughout the internet. So did the graphic letter Hundley wrote Marni Phillips, which she hand-delivered to the Phillips home, causing property damage while she was there. A Mistress Can Ruin a Cheating Man’s Life
This is a classic example of how a disgruntled, out of control mistress can literally ruin a cheating man’s life. Yet most cheating men let their eagerness to have sex, overrule their common sense.
Most men would never consummate a business deal without first checking into the background of the company or the persons with whom he’s about to get involved.
Yet in my 15 years as an infidelity expert, researching, interviewing, and consulting with thousands of infidelity victims and cheaters of both sexes, I have yet to encounter a cheating man who checked out his mistress first, before getting involved.
The average cheating man knows little or nothing about the woman with whom he’s having an affair. He doesn’t even bother to check out the woman’s reputation, her background, her motives or her temperament to see what kind of person he’s dealing with. So he has no idea of what his mistress is capable of doing, or how she could ruin his life if the situation gets out of control.

What a cheater doesn’t know about his mistress could end up costing him his money, his marriage, his job, his reputation, his health, and maybe even his life.
Look at Steve Phillips, David Letterman, John Edwards, and Steve McNair – just to name a few.
Cheating Men – Check Your Mistress Out
As a precautionary measure, every cheating husband should check his mistress out. The safety and well-being of himself, his wife, and his family could be at stake.
For the same reason, I always advise wives who know their husbands are cheating, to check their husband’s mistress out.
