Welcome, soon-to-be loyal readers.

I guess that was a bit optimistic, huh? Kind of like the way I felt about UGA's chances this season on August 29. Reality bites indeed.

So I have been given the hefty task of being your College Football Examiner for pretty much all college teams in Georgia, but my focus will primarily be on Georgia and Georgia Tech.

Now, since this is the inaugural post, I figured I would take this time to let you know more about myself and answer any questions you may have. So here's "Kit" in a nutshell.

About Me: I'm 27 years old and living in that awkward "Smynings" area, though it technically says "Smryna" on my address. I grew up in the metropolis of Perry, Georgia. I went to UGA for way too many years and earned my Bachelor's in Journalism with a focus on Public Relations. After a brief stint of selling broadcast radio commercials in Savannah, GA, I moved to Atlanta and worked in supply chain logistics. Nowadays, I spend my time working in advertising and, for the record, it rocks my face off.

My Homerism:  Am I a UGA homer? Absolutely. Even though I grew up a Dawg and Jacket fan (my dad's side was UGA and my mom's was GT), when I went to UGA, of course I became a huge fan. For the past three years, I've written The Dawg-gone Blog (and will continue to do so) to quell my UGA fix. So yes, I'm a Dawg fan.

My Objectivity: As much as I am a Georgia fan, I'm a huge college football fan in general and I paid attention in my journalism classes for a reason. I write my blog for fun, but what you will get here is 100% pure objectivity. I have a passion for college football in general and with the resurgence of the Tech program under Coach Paul Johnson, I really think the rivalry between these two teams is going to drastically increase. I'm hoping to be able to provide all of you with some great writing as that happens.

I'm not a news reporter, so there will be little "breaking news" here.  But I hope to provide all of you with great game previews, analysis, general thoughts and recruiting tidbits for both teams along the way.

Please think of this as a front porch for Examiner.com where everyone is able to chime in and express opinions. I welcome all feedback because I want to provide something here that you can't get in most other places. I'm sure I'll catch plenty of you-know-what as it is for being a Dawg fan, but I hope everyone knows that I want to provide something here where feedback and discussions are always welcome.

With that in mind, I'm leaving you guys for tonight, but I'll be back soon to preview this week's games for both teams. By the way, I like having a single tag line that I like to use to close out each post, so I'm going to start trying some things out, throw it against the wall and just see what sticks. Any feedback there will help as well. No one likes a bad closing line.

See you tomorrow.

For more info: For all things UGA related, start your day out by going to Dawgbone.net. Tons of daily links to blogs and news headlines should quench your thirst.
For more info on Georgia Tech: For great analysis from refereeing crews to depth charts, as well as game breakdowns, the Georgia Tech Sports Blog is a great place to get your fix for Georgia Tech Football.
