Mackenzie Phillips admits to incestuous relationship with father John Phillips

One Day At A Time star Mackenzie Phillips recently revealed in her memoir, High On Arrival, that she carried on a consensual sexual relationship for ten years with her father, musician John Phillips.
Phillips claimed that the affair began the night before her 1979 wedding, when she woke up after a drug-induced blackout to find her father having sex with her.
Mackenzie told Oprah Winfrey that it wasn't until she found out that she was pregnant, and didn't know who the father was, that she ended the affair. Her father even paid for the abortion.
Phillips also told Oprah that her father, who was the founder of the Mamas and the Papas, taught her how to roll a joint at age ten, and helped her shoot up for the first time when she was 16 or 17.
"I don't hate him. I understand that he was a very tortured man and passed that torture down to me," Phillips says.
