Staying well by building immunity.

Throughout human history, people sought natural ways to keep healthy and also to defend against illness.   This was, for the most part, a trial and error process.  Some things that have been proven to keep us healthy and or help us fight illness:  vegetable oils, garlic, fruits/vegetables, whole grains, water.

We now know that oils like coconut, when added to our diet, help to prevent bacteria and viruses from attaching to the inner skin of our bodies, preventing illness.  When you oil your skin, it does the same, preventing pimples and fungal rash.

Garlic is a proven antiviral and antibacterial.  At the first sign of illness, eat garlic.

We also know that fruits and vegetables contain chemicals called antioxidants that actually help us combat and prevent illness be escorting free radicals out of our bodies.  They also contain vitamins, minerals, pure water and fiber.  Most fruits contain soluble fiber, which is gentler than insoluble fiber.  Fiber is how we prevent colon cancer- which has become so common that insurance companies recommend cancer screenings for people over 50 years old.  But colon cancer is becoming common in younger people too.

Water is essential to kidney health.  That low back pain?  It might be your kidneys complaining.  When did you last drink a glass of water?

Touch triggers a healing response.  Babies who are touched are healthier.  Try to schedule yourself a massage or Reiki treatment at least every 3 months.  If you live alone, you might need it on a monthly basis.

So eat right, walk every day if you can, drink water, be with others.

Stay well!
